PRO-TEK™ WPC’s Excel Tile Collection includes eight authentic stone-effects in slate, travertine and marble decors. All floors feature PRO-TEK’s award-winning design, which combines a premium LVT decor with a robust engineered construction. Below the surface, a waterproof WPC core sits above an acoustic underlay, providing an LVT finish with additional performance and installation benefits. The designs are suitable for all locations – including bathrooms, basements and over underfloor heating – and are ideal for fast-track projects.
PRO-TEK™ is opening its new Clerkenwell showroom in May, to coincide with Clerkenwell Design Week. The new showroom - at The Old Trading House, Northburgh Street - will provide a specification hub for the new PRO-TEK™ WPC engineered vinyl flooring range. It will also feature complementary office furniture designs from PRO-TEK’s Clerkenwell partner, BURONOMIC.
Phil Reed has been appointed by PRO-TEK™ as UK Commercial Business Development Manager. Phil’s appointment follows PRO-TEK’s continued success and expansion within the commercial market. In his new role, Phil will focus on PRO-TEK’s WPC engineered vinyl flooring, which was officially launched in the UK at The Flooring Show, Harrogate, last September.
PRO-TEK™ WPC will be presenting its new engineered vinyl flooring innovation at the Asset Management & Maintenance Conference & Exhibition later this month. The National House Federation’s annual conference - hosted at the Birmingham Conference & Events Centre (17 and 18 October) - gives housing association delegates access to content and networking tailored to their sector. PRO-TEK™ WPC will be showing its full range of natural-effect floors, which have been designed to provide quality, safety and performance, and to speed installation.
PRO-TEK™ WPC engineered vinyl flooring has been nominated as a finalist in Tomorrow’s Contract Floors Awards 2019. The annual awards are a celebration of “the finest innovations and time-tested solutions” within the flooring industry.
The nomination is for PRO-TEK’s entire range of floors and accessories, which were recently launched at The Flooring Show in Harrogate. It follows earlier award success at the event, where PRO-TEK received a Flooring Innovation Award.
PRO-TEK’s new range of WPC accessories includes five profile designs, with a colour and décor-matched option for every floor throughout the PRO-TEK™ WPC engineered vinyl floor collection. The new range – which includes 200 individual products - will be launched at The Flooring Show, alongside the wood and stone-effect flooring collections.
The new accessory designs include a T Bar, End Bar, Reducer Bar, L Moulding and Stair Nosing. Each profile measures 2200mm in length and has a waterproof wood plastic composite wrapping, in a wood or stone-effect. Like PRO-TEK™ WPC flooring, the profiles are phthalate-free and all materials used are 100% recyclable.
PRO-TEK™ WPC’s wood-effect floors – and matching accessories - are divided into four collections: 'Excel' rustic planks; 'Distress
One of the key benefits of PRO-TEK™ WPC engineered vinyl flooring is its fast installation, with minimal ‘prep’. Most vinyl stick-down floors require a fair amount of subfloor preparation, so what makes PRO-TEK™ WPC engineered vinyl flooring different?
The answer lies in the construction. Most sheet vinyl floors are relatively thin and measure between 1.2mm to 5mm. Luxury vinyl tiles tend to be slightly thicker and they’re made up of a PVC vinyl base layer, decorative PVC film and clear vinyl wear layer. In contrast, PRO-TEK™ WPC measures between 7mm - 8.5 mm and has six layers: an IXPE foam underlay base, a waterproof WPC (wood plastic composite) core structure layer with glueless joint, an LVT top layer, décor layer, wear layer and a UV layer on top. This makes the construction more stable; it feels a lot thicker and more rigid than vinyl and LVT, which tends to be quite flexible.
